The manufacturing process for salt incorporates many steps, which are traditionally driven by—and recorded back into—JD Edwards EnterpriseOne manufacturing applications, such as manufacturing work orders.

When these operations are left to humans to complete, the result is inaccurate, late, or sometimes missing information.

Objective — Eliminate human steps in the manufacturing process, especially interaction with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.

Outcome — The customer developed a library of orchestrations that automatically interact with JD Edwards manufacturing applications, for example, Work Order Completions. They also implemented a QR bar code mechanism to tag and track items throughout the process. QR code readers automatically scan the items and invoke orchestrations to update JD Edwards. The customer has eliminated a large part of the human intervention, and now the data in JD Edwards is accurate and near real-time.
