Graphical view of Engineer to Order (ETO) schedule and tasks

For large engineering firms, schedules needs to be closely monitored to ensure products are delivered to customers on time.

It is difficult and error error-prone to review project schedules in a grid format for project managers.

Objective — Give project managers a graphical view of project schedules to proactively address problems that could cause delivery delays.

Outcome — A new javascript user interface was built to show the project’s schedule in a Gantt chart. Orchestrations were created to retrieve project information from the standard JD Edwards ETO applications leveraging all of the existing business logic. The new application used javascript just to create a robust UI and coding the business logic did not need to be duplicated.
