Manufacturing · Business process assessment

Manual processes complicated new-plant planning.

A new plant required clearer requirements and fewer inherited workarounds. Allari used business analysis to document operating gaps and options before implementation was scoped.

How we handled the work

01

Manual workarounds obscured system requirements.

A manufacturing group needed to improve existing operations while preparing a new plant. Manual steps and spreadsheet workarounds obscured which issues required process changes, better data or system changes.

02

Assessed nine functional areas with users.

Allari’s functional consultants held structured sessions with users and process owners across nine areas, spanning finance, purchasing, sales, inventory, planning, manufacturing and maintenance.

The assessment identified manual payment-file adjustments, spreadsheet-dependent planning and reporting, inconsistent closing processes and master-data issues. Recommendations separated standard functionality and configuration from integration, development and further investigation.

03

Defined improvements and new-plant requirements.

The assessment established two tracks: targeted improvements in the current environment and requirements for the new plant. An initial implementation phase was subsequently accepted, building on the discovery work.

04

Delivered findings before implementation.

The customer gained a documented view of processes, gaps and options before reproducing old workarounds in a new environment. The assessment gave the team a foundation for prioritizing improvements and defining implementation.

What this example shows about the approach.

Business analysis connected operating processes, dependencies and requirements before system changes were selected. The delivered assessment gave the customer a basis for choosing improvements and defining the next implementation scope.

For current shared services, consumption can increase or decrease with agreed demand without a long-term shared-service commitment. Dedicated resources, projects and service guarantees have their own terms.
